SPIKE TENT IS VERY WELL DESIGNED AND VERY HIGH QUALITY. 3 Pole roof support design – front- center – back – poles allows for extra headroom at the front and the rear of the spike tent for easy entry and more standing room inside compared to single and double pole spike tents. Screen doors do not have an inverted T zipper which means the screen doors or not entirely bug proof. FOR YOUR SAFETY, you must have a fireproof material under your stove, minimum 12″ to front and 6″ to sides and the back. Floors do not have a cut out for the stove. A cut out for stove allows insects and varmints to enter through the cut out area. Also, sometimes water pools under the stove when a cut out floor is used. We use a continuous floor with a mat under the stove to keep out bugs, rodents and water. It is best to keep all floor seams off ground to eliminate possible water leakage into a tent. Canvak recommended for all floor seams if you have seams on ground. NY, NJ, MN, MI, MA, CA and LA require Fire Treated tents. Canadian regulations require all canvas tents to be Fire Treated, this Wilderness Tent is not Fire Treated. I had a chance to set up the spike tent I ordered from you a couple weeks ago. Great design on the spike tent! I haven’t seen a tent on the market stitched with that quality for the price. The design is just excellent. The extras like stove jack, floor, windows, zip, would cost a hell of a lot more from other manufacturers. I set it up by myself for the first time, took me 35 minutes. It’s a very well thought out design. Spike tent kept me warm and dry dring elk season. Wilderness 4 stove easily heated my 12 x12 spike tent. I received the 12×12 spike tent. Everything in excellent condition. You did an excellent job of packing the tent. I have given some thought to a fly and will order one and a wilderness stove to complete this tent. I did take your advice for the tent stakes and made them out of 1/2 rebar as you suggested. Many thanks for an excellent product and prompt service. I really enjoy it. I plan on getting many years of use this spike tent because it is high, high quality. Fly is highly recommended. Fly provides protection from. Stove pipe sparks on roof burning pin holes in the canvas. It provides another moisture barrier. Allows water and snow to run off the roof easily as fly is a smooth poly material. Rain water and snow is forced 1 foot from side of tent because the fly extends 1 foot past each side wall. Keeps your spike tent clean. If you get tree pitch or tree resin on your roof you will need a strong detergent to remove tree pitch or resin. The harsh detergent will also remove the fire, water and mildew treatment. You will have leaks in the canvas at every location where the strong detergent was used. A 4 gap between the fly and top of sidewall is recommended.
