Here is my beautiful, vintage north face “oval intention” geodesic dome tent. If you are unfamiliar with the “oval intention” do a google search, it is one of the first dome tents. Not sure of the year… This tent in in very good, lightly used condition.
Door has some small spots of delamination (pic 8). Some light stains on the rainfly (pic 7).
Leather tabs for the awning (pic 6). I would love to keep this tent for my collection but have no room to display.
It has been sitting in the closet for years. Also included is a vintage north face pup-tent (pic 11). Pup-tent is missing poles and has extensive interior delamination. Both tents (2) and poles weigh 14 lbs.

Hopefully if you’ve been around backpacking you know about dana design, not only their backpacks but they also made tents. Well this is the nuk tuk tent. I have used this tent a total of 3 times, all in the grand canyon. It has no tears, no stains, no defects, it is completely seam sealed, works amazing!! If you don’t know about this tent you should google it.
I love the size vs weight ratio of this tent. I used it for 2 person backpacking, has space for 4 people, but i like to be able to have my gear with me and accessible. It saves weight by using your trekking poles as the tent pole (brilliant). The tent itself is a awesome mesh enclosure which allows unobstructed views and unlimited air flow (bug free). The rain shell can be used to cover the tent in foul weather. The shell can be used alone also as a shelter instead of the tent for even more saved weight. Many outdoor outfitters have used these tents with much praise (nols). Even snow camp with the tent shell. Tent probably weighs 6lbs, worth every ounce.
