8′ x 8′ tarp heavy duty waxed canvas leather bushcraft glamping

Hand crafted heavy duty waxed canvas and leather tarp. Classic 8′ x 8′ (2.45m x 2.45m) that can be pitched in a huge selection of different ways. Excuse the terrible pictures as I’ve not had time to get proper photos yet. Sale is for tarp only, guy lines and carabiner not included. Hand crafted in the English Lake District from entirely UK made components such as pure copper hand peened rivets, brass washers, hand cut heavy duty 3mm vachetta leather (5mm veg tan on ridge-line tie outs for extra durability) and tan goatskin 1.3mm leather reinforcements. Fully double stitched throughout. This tarp weighs in at 3.35kg and measuring 8′ square with 8 tie outs (each corner and midway between corners). Triple fold ridgeline (very strong and waterproof way of doing it, no half measures). It’s also possible to add more tie-outs along the ridgeline or on the panels if you want (see other listing for these upgrades). The tan waxed canvas doesn’t show the tan much until the light shines through it and is 12oz/y2 making a long lasting bit of kit, it can also be rewaxed or repaired. Some of the big benefits of canvas is that it’s darker in bright sun, quieter in the wind (less like a plastic bag compared to polyester or nylon) and far longer lasting (and can be repaired) and doesn’t have any nasty PFCs or chemical waterproofing. However i’ve graduated to a tarp and this thing will just start collecting dust in my garage. The Aeon Li is our lightest shelter. Single wall, single pole, and made with Dyneema®, it packs to 14 in (36 cm) and is perfect for any minimalist adventure including thru-hiking, bikepacking, packrafting, and backpacking. The patent-pending Aeon Li features two fundamental design improvements over half-pyramid style shelters. First, the vertical back wall of the tent has a set of Tarptents PitchLoc foldable corners to increase the interior volume and storm strength of the tent while maintaining a minimal footprint. This feature enables the interior to sit and sleep people up to 7ft (2.13m) tall. Second, the PitchLoc corners are implemented in combination with a structural awning to increase head/shoulder room and create static equilibrium so that both front doors can be completely rolled back without the need for a forward guyline. Dyneema® fabrics for the ultimate in strength and weight savings. Single trekking pole support; no pole in your living space. Front vestibule can be completely rolled back with no apex guyline required. Fits people up to 7 ft / 213 cm tall. Generous vestibule for excellent gear storage space.
