Dupont tyvek homewrap is a wonderful versatile material with proven applications that are only limited by your imagination. In other words, there are many ways to use this very strong and durable but very light material. The ideal material for anyone that loves the outdoors – day hikers, campers and especially great for the long distance ultralight backpacker. Tyvek is a flash-spun continuous fiberous hi-density polyethylene, that means it won’t unravel or fray. It is an extremely tough, puncture and tear resistant fabric. It’s also breathable, mold and mildew resistant and can be cut with a utility knife or scissors. This fabric can also be washed in your wash machine with cold/warm water (no soap or bleach) and hang it to dry (do not put in dryer). It dries very fast when you hang it outside and you can also use your iron on this fabric with low heat. Tyvek homewrap has print on one side and is all solid white on back side of sheet. These rolls are 9 feet wide by whatever length you choose from 1 to 150 feet at $1.59 per lineal foot. Put the number of feet you want in the quantity box, for e. F you want 5 feet put a “5″ in the quantity box and your tyvek piece will be 5 feet by 9 feet. Tyvek can also be painted or the kids can color it with crayons, colored pencils and markers. Here are some examples on how this material can be used. 1 tent footprints – a tyvek sheet under your tent can extend the life of your tent floor. 2 ground cloths – use a piece of tyvek under your sleeping bag to keep dry & clean. 3 tarps – tyvek is a durable fabric to cover you gear or woodpile to keep dry. 4 tent fly – very good fabric for protection from the elements. 5 kites – great material for this because it can be painted and it’s light & durable. 6 poncho – keep a sheet on hand to make an emergency poncho. 7 theater backgrounds – can easily be painted whatever scene you want. 8 photo backdrop – the solid white side is perfect for this. 9 painters canvas – artists, this a less expensive way to paint and it holds paint well.
